Paul McCartney returned in grand fashion to the theater that launched his career in Manhattan more than 45 years ago.
It was February of 1964 when The Beatles took the stage on The Ed Sullivan Show and sent the nation into a frenzy that would become "Beatlemania." This time around, however, McCartney passed on the stage for this performance, and instead took the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater with a surprise performance on the marquee for Wednesday's taping of the Late Show with David Letterman.

Vatican Forgives John Lennon

L'Osservatore Romano, the semi-official Vatican newspaper marked the 40th anniversary of The Beatles' "White Album" with an article forgiving the late English singer John Lennon for saying four decades ago that The Beatles were more popular than Jesus and praising Lennon and the Fab Four from Liverpool.
Lennon told a British newspaper in 1966 - at the height of Beatlemania - that he did not know which would die out first, Christianity or rock and roll.
At the time, the comparison sparked controversy in the U.S. as radio stations banned their music and concerts were cancelled.

Paul & Axl Music on My Space

Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and Guns N' Roses released their biggest hits on vinyl records and compact discs, but today, their new albums will debut online on MySpace.
Users of MySpace, the world's largest social network on the Internet, will be able to listen for free to "Electric Arguments," the new album by McCartney's side-project group The Fireman, and "Chinese Democracy," the long-delayed album by hard rock band Guns N' Roses, before the songs are in stores and at online shops like Amazon.com.

McCartney hopes to release funky Beatles track

Paul McCartney says it's time an experimental Beatles track saw the light of day.
McCartney says he wants to release "Carnival of Light," a 14-minute experimental track the Fab Four recorded in 1967 but never released.
The band played the recording for an audience just once, at an electronic music festival in London. It reportedly includes distorted guitar, organ sounds, gargling and shouts of "Barcelona!" and "Are you all right?" from McCartney and John Lennon.

Phil Collins waves goodbye to his money

Collins paid his ex-wife, Orianne Cevey, almost twice as much as Paul McCartney paid out to Heather Mills settlement, making it the highest divorce payout by a British superstar in British history according to the Sunday Mirror.
Collin's reportedly gave his third wife a £25 million ($50 million US) payout.
A music industry source said: "Marriage has certainly not come cheap for Phil. He has now made two of the biggest divorce payments in showbiz history." At least no one can accuse him of leaving his ex-wives short. When you compare what he's paid out relative to his own fortune the figures are enormous."

A new report claims that Heather Mills is panicking over what her ex-publicist, Michele Elyzabeth, will reveal next.
Last week, Michele E. told the world that Mills was probably lying about the existence of tapes that supported her claims that Paul McCartney was abusive during their marriage.
A source says the gold digger is terrified that even juicier truths will be exposed:
"Michele knows where all the bodies are buried—not literally, of course—but what she knows is bad enough to bring Heather down in flames. Heather is going frantic over whether she'll talk or not."

In a new UK television documentary "Heather Mills: What Really Happened," FORMER hooker Denise Hewitt, who worked with Heather Mills as £10,000-a-night prostitutes, said they acted out sizzling lesbian fantasies for their rich clients for up to $20k a night.

Mills shows what a Money Grubbing Witch she is...

Heather Mills this afternoon announced that she has accepted a £24.3 million divorce deal before launching an attack on Sir Paul McCartney, his lawyers and the legal system.
Ms. Mills, 40, speaking on the steps of the High Court, said she was hitting out after the judge in the case ruled that details of the divorce should be made public.

It emerged that she had sought nearly £125 million and that McCartney had offered her £15.8million.
Ms. Mills said she was “very, very happy” with the settlement and a summary of the judgment was published today. But the former model will appeal against plans to release it in full at a further hearing tomorrow.

Launching a non-stop stream of criticism, Ms. Mills raged against Sir Paul, the judge and McCartney's lawyer. Ms. Mills also launched an angry outburst against her husband's victory on where their daughter would live and how much she would get each year.

She complained about the judge's assessment of her husband's wealth stating, “He also said that Paul is only worth £400 million. Everyone knows that he has been worth £800 million for the last 15 years. Paul has always wanted it public because he wants to look like generous Sir Paul."

She added: “I can't leave England. Believe me if I tried to go he'd have an injunction on me in a second.”
Speaking to the press, she went on, "All of you that have researched know that it was always going to be a figure between £20 and £30 million, Paul was offering a lot less than that, which you'll see in the judgment ... incredibly sad."
