Batman of Bangkok

Meet Bangkok's Batman.
Last week, as anti-government protesters clad in crimson stormed the capital's streets, some guys hijacked a gas truck and parked it in an otherwise quiet neighborhood. They were pursued by soldiers and assumed (according to Thai media reports) that the military wouldn't fire into an area containing a massive container of liquid fuel.
Then, out of nowhere, Batman steps into the crowd and surveys the scene. So the story goes, the masked hero broke the tension long enough for a city worker to climb back in the truck and drive away. And those in the neighborhood gathered to applaud.

Megan Fox is Not Wonder Woman

Superman. Batman. Spiderman. They have all had their day of glory on the silver screen. Meanwhile, the woman of most men's dreams has been stuck in Hollywood "Development Hell".
For Wonder Woman to be universally successful she would have to appeal to younger audiences. And with that, Megan Fox as Wonder Woman began.

R.I.P.: Jimmy Boyd

He sang the song that's been played every Christmas for more than 50 years. Jimmy Boyd was 13 when he recorded "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" in 1952. The song sold two million copies in less than 10 weeks. That surprised Boyd, who told Time magazine that he "didn't think anyone would buy it."
Boyd ended up acting as well as singing. And he was married for two years to Yvonne Craig, who went on to play Batgirl in the "Batman" TV series.
Boyd has now died of cancer. He was 70 years old.

Lesbian Bat Upstages Dead Bat

DC Comics has killed off Batman twice in recent months, but both deaths have been a less important story in the press than say President Barack Obama making a five page appearance in Amazing Spider-Man. Now, Batman is not only being overshadowed by a wall crawler from a rival comic book company, but the sexuality of one of his potential replacements is a bigger story than the Dark Knight’s own demise.
Yes, a seventy year old, comic book character with a recent half-billion dollar movie can kick the bucket, but it’s not big news until a lesbian gets involved. DC Comics recently revealed that Batwoman would take over Batman’s starring role in Detective Comics this summer. As Fox News
reports Batwoman’s alter ego Kathy Kane is a red-headed lesbian. Fox News also points out that Batwoman wears a figure-hugging black outfit with knee-high red stiletto boots.

R.I.P.: Pat Hingle

Pat Hingle, the veteran actor with more than half a century of impressive work in theater, film and television who was perhaps best known to a generation of movie fans as Commissioner James Gordon in the first four "Batman" films, has died. He was 84.
He wasn't a household name, but his solid, broad, hang-dog screen face became a household image. On film, he worked with stars ranging from Clint Eastwood to the Muppets. He was Sally Field's father in "Norma Rae" and Warren Beatty's in "Splendor in the Grass." He played the bartender who needles Marlon Brando about his former prize-fight style in "On the Waterfront," and he was the sadistic crime boss who terrorizes Anjelica Huston with a bag of oranges in "The Grifters."

R.I.P.: Eartha Kitt

Eartha Kitt, the sultry singer, dancer and actress who rose from South Carolina cotton fields to become an international symbol of elegance and sensuality, has died. She was 81.
Kitt, a self-proclaimed "sex kitten" famous for her catlike purr, was one of America's most versatile performers, winning two Emmys and nabbing a third nomination. She also was nominated for several Tonys and two Grammys.
On television, she was the sexy Catwoman on the popular "Batman" series in 1967-68, replacing Julie Newmar who originated the role. A guest appearance on an episode of "I Spy" brought Kitt an Emmy nomination in 1966.

Batman Dies

THE world’s most famous comic book hero has breathed his last Bat breath.
Bruce Wayne – who by night is Batman – gets murdered by a man claiming to be the father he thought was dead.
In a highly controversial new storyline Bruce, who first appeared in 1939, is killed by Simon Hurt – the leader of the shady Black Glove organization.
Simon claims he is really Dr. Thomas Wayne, saying faked his own passing when Bruce was a child.
The superhero dies when he tries to stop his foe escaping by helicopter in the new comic Batman R.I.P.
Writer Grant Morrison said: “This is so much better than death. People have killed characters in the past but to me, that kind of ends the story!
"I like to keep the story twisting and turning. So what I am doing is a fate worse than death. Things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all.
"This is the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman."
Batman will live on though, with another character filling his Batsuit.
Two likely contenders are Dick Grayson - the original Robin - or current Boy Wonder, Tim Drake.

Downey Disses DC

Robert Downey Jr. didn't hold back when it came to the subject of The Dark Knight in a recent interview.
After telling the interviewer that Iron Man 2 will be a cool, fun movie, he let it rip when they touched on the topic of Batman...
Downey said:
"My whole thing is that I saw 'The Dark Knight'. I feel like I'm dumb because I feel like I don't get how many things that are so smart. It's like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I'm like, 'That's not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.' I loved 'The Prestige' but didn't understand 'The Dark Knight'. Didn't get it, still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I'm like, 'I get it. This is so high brow and so f–king smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.' You know what? F-ck DC comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from."
He went on to say, "You know, you're never too old to burn your bridges because I believe I have offended everyone. I think I've got a couple more. 'I'll burn that bridge when I come to it' is my favorite phrase I've ever coined."

The Batman wins AGAIN...

Another weekend of dominance for The Dark Knight.
Despite competition from The Mummy 3, the new Batman movie has once again come in as the #1 movie in America.
The Dark Knight
took in another $44.8M this weekend, putting its total at $395.88M domestic.
Unfortunately for Brendan Frasier, his The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor performed worse than expected this weekend. That film only took in $42.5M domestic, good enough for second place. The movie was projected to make $50 mill or more.

Bale Out

Christian Bale has been released from jail after being questioned by police for more than four hours. Batman bailed out, but he has to return in September for more fun. Christian was arrested earlier today after his mom and sister filed an assault claim against him last night.
TMZ reports that Christian might have been arrested for verbally assaulting his mom. Apparently, in England there is such thing as Class 4 and 5 verbal assault. Class 4 is verbal assault with "an intent to cause alarm."
UPDATE: Christian's spokesperson released this statement to
People: "Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."

FOR THE RECORD:
ADAM WEST WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER BE THE REAL BATMAN...
