Federal Crime to sell inaugural tickets

California Senator Dianne Feinstein, who chairs the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, said Monday she's writing to Internet sites like eBay asking them not to sell scalped inauguration tickets. She also said she's crafting a bill that would make a federal crime of selling tickets to the historic event January 20, 2009.
The tickets are supposed to be free to the public and distributed through congressional offices.

Senate Judiciary approves Mukasey nomination

After Democratic Sens. Charles Schumer and Dianne Feinstein on Friday announced they would support the embattled nomination of Michael Mukasey to be attorney general, Sen. Arlen Specter also threw his support to the nominee.

For the second time in recent months, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) on Friday confirmed that she will break ranks with a majority of her Democratic colleagues on the Judiciary Committee, in this case to confirm President Bush's nominee for attorney general. This action begs the question: Is Feinstein the Democrats' Next Lieberman?
