L.A. Loves Their Lakers

L.A. Coliseum...capacity crowd
LOS ANGELES, California — The streets of downtown were transformed into a sea of purple and gold on Wednesday as tens of thousands of joyous Los Angeles Lakers fans joined their team in a raucous but mostly peaceful celebration of its 15th NBA championship.
Facing a $500 million deficit, laid off city workers howled at the thought cash-strapped L.A. would pay $2 million of taxpayers money for services and crowd control for one of the most profitable franchises in sports - despite the fact that Lakers' victory elicited riots Sunday night.
After much hand-wringing, the Lakers coughed up half the money, local billionaires and an Indian casino the rest, saying the city couldn't afford not to celebrate the Lakers.
There's over a hundred games each season. An estimated $1.5 million generated per game, about $150 million per season.
In fact the city estimates today's parade will generate another $15 million.

Rihanna & Chris Brown Court Separation

At the "NBA Finals" in Orlando last Thursday night, the boxer, Chris Brown (AKA Ike Turner Jr.) and the punching bag, Rihanna reunited...sort of. Not really. They both showed up to the game, but sat at opposite ends of the court.
An anonymous source claims that "they requested to sit together" to watch the Lakers face off against the Magic, but that by the time the game started the pair had decided to sit separately. An eyewitness said that at halftime they went to different private lounges.
