Patrick Swayze is a Miracle

Patrick Swayze arrived at LAX yesterday and told the paps, "I'm cookin'. I'm a miracle dude! I don't know why."
Since being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year, Patrick has been receiving treatment at Stanford Medical Center. Patrick admitted to smoking up to 3 packs of cigs a day and thinks that may have been a cause of his cancer. Last May, Patrick was photographed smoking. Patrick was at LAX to fly to Chicago to start shooting his new TV show called "The Beast."

Patrick goes back to work...

Patrick Swayze isn't letting pancreatic cancer stop him from doing what he's good at. He's just signed on to star in the A&E series "The Beast".
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the "Beast" centers on an unorthodox but effective FBI veteran (Swayze) who trains a new partner in his hard-edged and psychologically clever style of agenting while being pursued by a secret Internal Affairs team.
Production on the 13 episodes begin this summer in Chicago. The show will air in 2009.

INSIDE EDITION has uncovered Patrick Swayze's three pack a day cigarette habit. The habit was so bad it was listed as a partial factor in the cause of a plane crash Swayze was involved in by the National Transit Safety Board in 2000. The report reveals Swayze was flying his plane when he became physically impaired in the cockpit which authorities said may have been caused by the cumulative effects of carbon monoxide by-products from the engine and from tobacco use.

According to the American Cancer Society previous studies have shown that smoking is responsible for about one-third of pancreatic cancer deaths. Studies reveal heavy smoking may damage the pancreas before cancer develops leaving the damaged pancreas more susceptible and at a greater risk of developing cancer.

Swayze’s doctor, Dr. George Fisher, said Swayze was not diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January, following gastrointestinal surgery, but far more recently.

A&E says that "The Beast," which stars Swayze is "being considered" by the network and could be picked up . If that’s the case, Swayze’s rep says that Patrick wants to stay on the show. that story HERE

Patrick Swayze Has Five Weeks to Live

Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January and the disease has since spread. The National Enquirer report claims Patrick only has about five weeks left to live.
For the past month, Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University’s prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful.
He received three doses of chemotherapy and the tumor shrank, but less than his doctors had hoped for — and Patrick was told he should prepare for the end.

“He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure,” said an insider.
