Swarms of diehard fans and eager press gathered outside the Theatre Royal, all desperate to catch a glimpse of the superstar, but Michael’s security just couldn’t cope with the unprecedented numbers and riot police were called in to help contain the crowds and prevent scenes of sheer pandemonium.
