Hairy Babydoll circa 1995
Zbigniew Libera surely is one of the most interesting Polish contemporary artists, his works are both intrinsic and perverse.
In the 90's he began making objects which manipulated existing consumer goods including toys, where the innocence associated with children's toys is deployed to introduce adult metamorphosis (puberty and adolescence) and concerns into the production of the object. This results in dolls with rich hair on their legs, groin and in the armpits ("You can shave the Baby" 1995 - shown above).
