Does 'Hollywood Car Wash' eerily mirror Katie Holmes' life

The latest buzz doing the rounds is that the new novel 'Hollywood Car Wash', written by author Lori Culwell is based on the life of Hollywood actress Katie Holmes.

A range of blogs have reported that Holmes got a copy of the book from a friend and is 'furious' after going through it.

When asked if Katie received the book, author Lori Culwell said that one of her acquaintances, who also knows Holmes, might have given her the book.

'I do know someone who knows her right now and might have given her the book. I can't discuss any relationship with Katie Holmes, but I am sorry that she's upset about the book,' TMZ quoted Culwell, as saying.

'Hollywood Car Wash' is Culwell's debut novel, about a young actress who finds herself thrust into the Hollywood industry machine, reshaped, renamed and dating a star with a big secret.

Although Culwell doesn't specifically name Holmes as an inspiration, she does say that the book is 'based on real events' and that 'the main character is based on a person that is never, ever going to talk to me again.'

However Holmes' rep, Ina Treciokas, while totally denying the rumours said that Katie has 'never heard of this book, never read it and doesn't know the author.'
