Churnin' Sperm

Researchers at Newcastle University in England report they have coaxed the first human sperm cells from embryonic stem cells, in a remarkable demonstration of how quickly the field of stem-cell science is moving.
Although the development once again raises the specter of creating humans in a petri dish or custom-designing egg and sperm cells for reproduction.

...let's get this straight...the earth's population is nearing 7 billion...still no cure for cancer...we've got boner pills...our resources, especially water, are dwindling...
...shouldn't humanity be figuring out how to limit breeding as opposed to expanding it?
