BROOKLYN, New York -- Indie folk and rock singer Sufjan Stevens has avid fans in many countries who are desperate to hear one of his latest songs.
But to do that, they have to get to Alec Duffy's apartment in Brooklyn.
Duffy won the rights to the song in a Christmas song-writing contest in 2007 put on by the indie rock star.
Fans assumed the contest winner would upload the song to the Web, but Mr. Duffy instead chooses to hold private listening sessions in his home in Brooklyn's Prospect Heights neighborhood.
