30th Anniversary of the passing of John Wayne
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the passing of John Wayne. To honor him, National Review’s John J. Miller has put together a terrific tribute. Check it out.
It was Maureen O’Hara who said “John Wayne is the United States of America,” and many people actually agreed; go figure. Honorable, generous, brave, selfless, aware of his own flaws…at least that was the persona he projected.
Wayne's work speaks for itself, a lot of it is actually good... and the man himself withstood the toughest of critics even after colossal failure (The Conqueror). If the right films are viewed, John Wayne doesn’t disappoint.
