Loomis Armored Car VIOLATES ADA...
In what seems to be a regular feature here, we found yet another Armored Car company (instead of the USUAL - DUNHAM) violating the American's with Disabilities Act.
This post is even better than our previous posts. As we were leaving the bank, a Loomis Guard ran up behind us demanding we hand over our camera (iPhone), telling us we could not take pictures of their truck. We explained how they were in violation of the ADA and their own truck has a sign on it asking "how's my driving?", including a telephone number to call...presumably to issue complaints.
Mr. 'wanna be a cop' demanded I turn over the phone saying he was going to call the police; we suggested he do just that as we had done nothing wrong, he didn't like that. Mr. 5'5" was getting red in the face when I told him to turn around and look at his parking job...he said he could park where ever he wanted, whereas I replied, "...yes you can, EXCEPT WHERE YOU ARE PARKED." Then I tossed him a bone... "How would you like it if I deleted the picture?" "YES," he stated in his biggest adult sounding VOICE...
As I emailed the picture to myself (see above), I showed him the phone, "...see, it's all gone now..."
Off he strutted, hopping into the booster seat of his BIG TRUCK. I, of course, called and reported the situation...
When will they ever learn? Oh wait, he probably got turned down for his dream job with the TSA at the airport...

Man! You are so cool! I suppose it's a slow day in Chuck's Weird World if you're complaining about blocked handicapped spots.
I suppose the weirdest thing about your world is the fact that you feel the need to write about yourself and pump-up that ego?
You do know that the bank that that truck was parked in front of actually hired them to protect their money... right? Did you complain to the bank as well?
Do you know why armored trucks are "BIG TRUCKS"? It's because they are... get ready... armored and because they carry a lot of weight. They armor the trucks to keep the money safe.
Do you know why you're not supposed to take photos (such as the photos that you've posted above) of armored vehicles? Because it poses a security threat to the Bank, the people and the money.
Do you know why they park in front of the Bank and not in a designated parking spot? Because they need to minimize the time they are exposed. Once again, they do this to keep the money safe.
My god, man. This blog is pathetic and now I feel like I've wasted 5 minutes of my life responding to a useless rant from an obvious moron. My suggestion for you would be to think about how you come across to your readers prior to posting. Now that I think about it, go back and read your posts and really think about whether or not you really need a blog and if anyone really cares about what you're writing. You might find that your old hand-written diary may allow you to vent about things that make you sound unintelligent while not allowing everyone else to know that you actually are.
Happy holidays!
A point by point response to Scott's comment...
1. Man! You are so cool! I suppose it's a slow day in Chuck's Weird World if you're complaining about blocked handicapped spots.
I suppose it’s a slow day in Scott’s normal world if you’re complaining about a blogger who’s complaining about blocked handicapped spots.
2. I suppose the weirdest thing about your world is the fact that you feel the need to write about yourself and pump-up that ego?
I suppose your world isn’t weird or interesting enough to write about anything and you pump up your ego by complaining about those who have something to say…out in the open
3. You do know that the bank that that truck was parked in front of actually hired them to protect their money... right? Did you complain to the bank as well?
You do know that the American’s with Disabilities Act is Federal law and that no one is above the law…right?
4.Do you know why armored trucks are "BIG TRUCKS"? It's because they are... get ready... armored and because they carry a lot of weight. They armor the trucks to keep the money safe.
Do you know what the word ‘sarcasm’ means?
5. Do you know why you're not supposed to take photos (such as the photos that you've posted above) of armored vehicles? Because it poses a security threat to the Bank, the people and the money.
Do you know that a photo exposing a crime can be used as evidence in a court of law?
6. Do you know why they park in front of the Bank and not in a designated parking spot? Because they need to minimize the time they are exposed. Once again, they do this to keep the money safe.
Do you know why handicapped parking spaces are in front of the bank? Because handicapped people can’t walk too well and need to minimize the time it takes to get from their car into the bank. It’s done to keep them safe.
7. My god, man. This blog is pathetic and now I feel like I've wasted 5 minutes of my life responding to a useless rant from an obvious moron.
You have wasted a lot more than 5 minutes.
8. My suggestion for you would be to think about how you come across to your readers prior to posting.
My suggestion for you would be to think about how you come across to everyone who is going to read your so-called rant.
9. Now that I think about it, go back and read your posts and really think about whether or not you really need a blog and if anyone really cares about what you're writing.
Now that I think about it, go back and read the blog and really think about whether or not you really need to read blogs, if blogs are really needed and if anyone really cares.
10. You might find that your old hand-written diary may allow you to vent about things that make you sound unintelligent while not allowing everyone else to know that you actually are.
You might discover that you haven’t anything better to do than waste way more than 5 minutes of your time venting about a blog post that vents about companies that do not honor Federal law…and that you paraphrase Mark Twain quotes.
11. Happy holidays!
You suck!
To even begin my response to this stupid blog, someone making time to complain about one blocked handicapped spot when there is clearly another spot open next to it, has nothing better to do but just be a pest to society. Look, I'm a person that respects the law to the fullest, but I would understand your opinion if this was any regular civilian vehicle doing this "crime". It's a freaking armored vehicle for goodness sakes. You're right Mr. CurtCock, no one should be above the law, but when it comes to safety for guards that carry millions of dollars in an armed vehicle, and the safety of bank personell and it's customers, the faster they get in and get out, the less oppurtunity for an unfortunate event to occur. Did you not hear about the three gaurds that were shot in a delivery attempt to Wachovia bank in Philadephia? Two out of the three gaurds were killed instantly. The driver survived in the attempt to saved his comarades. The two honorable gaurds that were killed in this event, were retired police officers for the city of Philidephia. Maybe that will make you understand something before you start complaining about non-sense. And if you think about, Chuck and Curtcock, covering the handicap spots and keeping these folks with disabilities away from the building as long as possible can eventually save these people's lives by keeping them away from danger inside the bank. Think before you speak. This whole blog subject is so ridiculous to begin with and now I feel ridiculous myself for stupping down to both your levels(chuck and curtrock). I had to defend Scott's resonable points. And Curtcock, next time you wan't to go point by point on someone else's comment, please think of better responses cause you look like an idiot. Please think intelligently. And another thing, I'm pretty sure Scott knows what "sarcasm" is, that's why he was he was making fun of chuck for it. Obviously you didn't catch his "sarcasm". Maybe you should work on realizing what sarcasm is. Scott, way to go brother. I got your back. Some people are just ignorant to understand anything. They have too much on their time. Hey Curtrock, you're the ones that sucks by the way. Peace!!!!
Curtrock and Chuck get a job in the real world. If someone needs to use the Handi spots they can wait the 2-5 minutes (average stop time) till the truck leaves and then take the spot. They park close to minimize exposure and there never in one spot for long.
The issue here is SIMPLE, LOOMIS VIOLATES the ADA....period, YOU CAN'T OBSTRUCT handicapped parking ....for ANY REASON...and while we are at it, why to most armored car robberies involve "people on the inside"?
I work for loomis, and I block handicapped spots all the time. They can wait, I have a job. We are instructed to park that way and police will not do anything about it.
With all the problems in the world is this really what you should be concerned with. Maybe the US government should stop all of these company from delivering money and then see what happens. Plus I think you just like to look at guys in uniform.
Yes you shouldn't block handicapped spots, but we're so sorry to take 5 minutes of your day by parking in front of them so we don't get shot or robbed. We apologize for taking up all that time and just "being in the way."
The point is, What LOOMIS does is AGAINST THE ADA Act, it's against the LAW, and STATISTICALLY Armored car THEFT is an inside job, so you have a better chance of getting SHOT by your co-worker than a handicapped person shuffling into a bank or store...
Being a disabled vet who just so happens to work foe Loomis id like to invite all of you who like to bitch about us parking in handicap spots to kss my ass. Don't assume just because the armored truck may be in violation of so called Ada bullshit that we don't need to park there
I sure hope your not creating a distraction by your post "Anonymous" and your one of those inside Armored truck guys who is planning a heist. I can see the headline now "Disabled Vet involved in Armored car heist"
You are absolutely correct that was my plan to the tee
Really come on you have to get a life of your own. No the loomis gaurd had no right to ask for your phone. The truck was in public and is fair game to be photogaphed. However the truck has every right to park in the disabled parking space it will be there only brefly and the closer it is to the bank door the less chance of a robbery or shooting. I have worked for loomis for 27 years and I would have smiled and waved at you while I was on the phone to the police reporting you as a suspect of interest. And had a good time watching as they guestioned you ran your ID and added you to there list of people seen casing banks and armored cars. Be seeing you HA HA
