Let the Circus Begin
Jury selection has begun in Britney Spears' driver's license case.
The first slate of potential jurors arrived Wednesday morning at the San Fernando Valley courtroom where Spears' case will be heard.
The 26-year-old pop singer is charged with a single count of driving without a valid license. She faces jail time and a fine if convicted, but isn't expected to appear during the case and won't hear the verdict firsthand.
Attorneys conferred with a judge for over an hour, but no deal was reached Wednesday. Her attorney claims Spears is being unfairly targeted because she is a celebrity.
The charge is the last remnant of a case that stemmed from an accident last August in which Spears hit a parked car and left the scene.
