R.I.P.: Vocalist Jo Stafford
Jo Stafford, the honey-voiced band singer who starred on radio and television and sold more than 25 million records with her ballads and folks songs, was a favorite of GIs during World War II and whose recordings made the pop music charts dozens of times in the 1950s, died Wednesday of congestive heart failure at her home in Century City, California. She was 90.
