Gas & Platinum

Another trend from the '70s is making a comeback - not shaggy hairdos, burnt orange or platform shoes, but gas theft.
With gas prices topping over $4 a gallon, police warn motorists to be on the lookout for signs of siphoning.
The last time there were widespread reports of gas theft was during the oil crisis of the 1970s...
and it's rampant...

Oh, there's this too:
There's a new target for scrap metal thieves - catalytic converters. They're going after the emission control devices in vehicles to get at the valuable platinum inside.
